William “Bill” Casey, of Con Colbert Street, Athea, Limerick, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on September 27, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital, Limerick, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. May he rest in peace.

Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Peggy (née O’Sullivan-Rathmore); his sons Liam and Denis; his daughters Ann Marie, Mairead and Mary Ita; daughter-in-law Toni; sons-in-law Peter, Billy, Ger and Philip; his adored grandchildren Sarah, Molly, Caoimhe, Stephen, Eavan, Pierce, Ruairi, Casey, Grace, Bill and Ned; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends. A life marked by faith, family and community
Bill faced life with quiet courage and a steady faith that guided him through both joys and challenges. He valued family above all else and took every opportunity to share moments of laughter, advice, and support with his children and grandchildren. Neighbours and friends recall his sense of fairness, his willingness to lend a hand, and the simplicity of his daily joys—good conversation, a warm cup of tea, and the comfort that comes from reliable presence. Though his passing leaves a deep void, the memories of his kindness and the example he set will endure in the hearts of those who loved him and in the community that benefited from his generosity.
Remembering with gratitude
As the parish and wider community gather to honour Bill’s life, those who knew him are invited to reflect on the legacy he leaves behind: a family bound by love, a circle of friends who found assurance in his friendship, and a community that benefited from his quiet leadership. In the days ahead, stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and gratitude will shine through as people remember Bill’s warmth, integrity, and the gentle way in which he lived his life. The family thanks everyone for their support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time.
Condolences and continuing thoughts
To Peggy, Liam, Denis, Ann Marie, Mairead, Mary Ita, Toni, Peter, Billy, Ger, Philip, and all the grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends, the community extends its deepest sympathies. May the memory of William Casey bring comfort and may the love of those who surround them provide strength in the days ahead.
