Why early detection matters
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Israel, with about 5,500 new cases each year. When diagnosed early, survival rates exceed 90%, turning what could be a life‑changing diagnosis into a manageable journey. Behind the statistics are real women—mothers, sisters, friends—whose lives are enriched by timely screening, accurate information, and strong support networks. The Pink Covenant campaign centers on making early detection a routine conversation in every workplace and community.
The Pink Covenant at a glance
Launched as a joint effort by the Histadrut (the national labor federation), Na'amat, and the nonprofit One in Nine, the Pink Covenant emphasizes education, reliable information, and practical tools. An official dedicated website—pinkawareness.co.il—offers evidence‑based guidance on screening, answers common questions, and debunks myths about breast cancer and mammography.
Tools for workplaces
The initiative provides resources for employee committees to lead awareness activities, host expert talks, and form survivor support groups, developed in partnership with One in Nine. By integrating health education into the work environment, the campaign reaches people where they are most likely to engage—in offices, factories, and across both public and private sectors.
The Pink Binder: a tangible support tool
One of the campaign’s most concrete offerings is the Pink Binder. In the near future, every woman diagnosed with breast cancer will be able to receive this organized binder at Histadrut and Na'amat branches nationwide. It contains essential information about available support services from One in Nine, a system for documenting tests, doctor summaries, appointment schedules, treatment protocols, prescriptions, and insurance matters. The binder will be distributed at roughly 40 locations across the country—from Nahariya to Eilat.
Join us in making a difference
This campaign is not only ours—it is yours. Every woman can be an ambassador of awareness, helping to spread the message and, in turn, save lives. We invite you to join, share, and be part of the change. Together, we can turn awareness into action and lives into healthy futures.
What early detection looks like in practice
Effective early detection combines routine screening, clinical breast exams, and personal awareness of changes in the breasts. The Pink Covenant website provides clear guidance on when to screen and how to interpret common concerns. Employers can help by offering flexible scheduling for mammograms and clinical visits, plus reminders for follow‑ups. The goal is to make screening accessible, understandable, and free from stigma so women feel empowered to seek care when it matters most.
Employers and workplaces as health allies
Workplaces have a unique role in health education. By normalizing conversations about breast health, providing time for screenings, and supporting survivor networks, employers reduce barriers to care. The collaboration with Histadrut, Na'amat, and community partners ensures wide geographic coverage and inclusive programs—from major urban centers to smaller communities.
How to participate
