Celebrating the life of Molly Doherty (Née Garvin)
Molly Doherty, (née Garvin), of Georges Street, Killala, Co. Mayo, passed away under the compassionate care of the staff at Moyridge Nursing Home in Ballina. She was predeceased by her husband John and by her parents Michael and Mary Garvin. Molly will be sadly missed by her cousins, relatives, neighbours, and the many friends whose lives she touched with warmth, kindness, and a ready smile.
A life rooted in family and community
Born into a close-knit family, Molly carried with her the values of generosity, neighbourliness, and quiet resilience that define a strong Killala community. For decades she offered support and companionship to those around her, whether through everyday acts of care, involvement in local parish life, or simply by being a trusted presence in family gatherings and community events. Her generosity extended beyond family circles, touching friends, neighbours, and the wider Killala community who remember her with fondness and gratitude.
Reposing, prayers, and funeral arrangements
Reposing at Lynn’s Funeral Home, Killala on Monday from 6pm with removal at 7pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Killala for prayer reception. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, followed by burial in Killala cemetery. Family flowers only.
