The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria is advancing a bold urban transformation agenda as Minister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike presents Abuja’s “Smart City Vision” at the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum in Dubai. Urban Mobility: Abuja aims to expand transportation networks, deploy intelligent traffic systems, and improve public transit options to reduce congestion and boost accessibility. In Dubai, Wike met Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, underscoring the importance of city-to-city exchanges as a catalyst for rapid development. At the Dubai forum, Wike joined a panel of global mayors and urban leaders, positioning Abuja as a forward-looking capital with a clear master plan, mission, and service-delivery focus for citizens.

Wike highlighted the role of data in shaping opportunities for Abuja’s youth, pointing to Nigeria’s forthcoming National Employment Database.
