Just Go Fitness Knock Announces Open Day Ahead of New Mayo Gym Launch

Big Open Day in Knock as Just Go Fitness Gears Up for Mayo Launch

A celebration is on the horizon for fitness enthusiasts in Knock, Mayo, as Just Go Fitness hosts an official open day this Saturday, October 18, ahead of the highly anticipated opening of their new gym at the local community centre. The event promises a glimpse into the Just Go Fitness approach, blending coaching, community, and accessible wellness for people across the region.

Conor Bowes will manage the new Knock facility, which is set to officially welcome members on October 20. This opening marks the third Just Go Fitness location, joining the established gyms in Ballyhaunis and Castlerea. Founder Joey Ganley, a Tooreen native with over a decade in the fitness industry, has steered the growth from Ballinrobe to a broader community footprint.

Ganley began his career in Ballinrobe as a personal trainer and gym manager at the Lakeside Centre in 2013, expanding his reach through local collaborations with sports clubs including Ballyhaunis Rugby Club and Tooreen Hurling Club. In October 2018, he opened the Ballyhaunis Enterprise Centre gym, a venture that laid the groundwork for subsequent openings in Castlerea in January 2022 and now Knock.

What sets Just Go Fitness apart, according to Ganley, is the strength of its coaching team and the emphasis on a community-driven atmosphere. “We have a great team of coaches,” he notes. “It’s a small group model of personal training, nutrition coaching and lifestyle coaching, with a very community-run vibe. We’re big on making everyone feel part of something.”

The Knock location expands Just Go Fitness’s accessible fitness model, which emphasizes regular social and wellness activities. The team prioritizes community engagement by organizing hikes and other events on a monthly basis, fostering connections beyond the gym floor. This approach has helped the brand build strong ties with local businesses, charities and sports clubs, including annual charity fundraisers that support multiple community partners.

What to Expect at the Knock Open Day

Attendees will get a first-hand look at the new facility and hear about the gym’s core offerings. Just Go Fitness Knock will feature membership options designed to suit different goals and lifestyles, from beginners to seasoned gym-goers. The event will also showcase the coaching philosophy that has driven the brand’s growth in Mayo and beyond.

Membership options at Just Go Fitness are structured to provide measurable progress. The two main programs are the six-week Foundation and the Just Go plan. The Foundation includes a one-to-one consultation, InBody 270 body composition analysis, personalised nutrition targets, a tailored meal plan and recipe e-book, plus four small group personal training sessions, access to all Just Go gyms, and regular check-ins with a coach. The Just Go plan offers four semi-private sessions weekly, full gym access to Ballyhaunis and Castlerea, monthly body scans, and ongoing support from the nutritionist, mindset coach and team of trainers, as well as exclusive online community resources.

As Just Go Fitness Knock prepares for its official opening, the emphasis remains on community, accountability and sustainable lifestyle change. The open day on October 18 provides a prime opportunity for locals to discover how the gym blends practical fitness with ongoing support and a sense of belonging.

Looking Ahead: A Gym That Feels Like Home

Joey Ganley’s vision for Just Go Fitness centers on creating spaces where people feel welcome, supported and connected. The Knock venue will continue that tradition, offering a hub where workouts become part of a broader lifestyle—one that includes social events, charity partnerships and an ongoing commitment to local families and athletes.

With the official opening on October 20 and Conor Bowes at the helm in Knock, the new gym is positioned to become a staple for wellness in the Mayo community. Local residents are encouraged to attend the open day, meet the team, explore membership options, and learn how Just Go Fitness can help them achieve their health and fitness goals.
