Día del Shopping Peru: Weekend of Deals, Concerts & Family Fun

What is Día del Shopping?

Peru’s Día del Shopping is a nationwide retail festival organized by the Association of Shopping Centers and Entertainment (ACCEP). Spanning two days—27 and 28 September—this event has grown into the country’s largest shopping and entertainment celebration. Visitors can expect promotions, free activities, concerts, and family-friendly experiences across the nation’s malls.

ACCEP projects that the weekend will draw more than four million visitors and generate a notable boost to the economy. Shoppers will enjoy discounts of up to 70% across diverse categories including fashion, technology, home, beauty, dining, sports, and entertainment. The campaign features more than 104 brands, both Peruvian and international, across 88 centers nationwide.

Why Día del Shopping matters

The event has evolved from a shopping promo into a cultural retail festival. It helps energize commerce, support small businesses within malls, and strengthen the whole value chain of the retail sector. For many stores, especially those inside shopping centers, Día del Shopping provides a crucial sales push and a chance to connect with families planning weekend activities.

Industry observers also point to the broader economic impact. With expectations of a 7% increase in sales this month and a projected total of 2.95 billion soles, the two-day festival acts as a powerful momentum driver for retailers and service providers alike. The event is held in person, with extended hours and a festive atmosphere designed to attract large crowds.

What to expect by mall

Across the country, malls are rolling out a mix of discounts, live performances, games, and themed experiences. Here are some notable highlights from participating centers:

Mall del Sur

As it marks its anniversary, Mall del Sur couples traditional anniversary celebrations with Día del Shopping. Expect raffles including a car, a travel package, and a S/3,000 shopping voucher. Activities feature capybara percussion, face painting, and live music in Plaza Tradiciones. On Saturday, performances include Ronald Hidalgo (Yo Soy Juan Gabriel) and the Orquesta Bembe; Sunday will host the final of a school band contest and a Candy y Colorín show.

Mall Aventura

The center presents a “Corridor Sale” with special promotions, cocktail tastings, and live DJ sets. Raffles and a Bingo Aventura offer prizes, with draw prizes up to S/500 for qualifying purchases. A guided paranormal experience at the “Museum of the Warrens” (Santa Anita) adds a themed attraction inspired by famous horror films—featuring original pieces.

Plaza Norte

Plaza Norte celebrates its anniversary with customer raffles for trips, vouchers, and even a vehicle. A capybara batucada performance adds a playful touch. Saturday features a master dance class and a “Bailando por mi promo” contest, while Sunday closes with the school bands final, a “Burbujas de Colores” children’s show, and a You Salsa performance.

Mallplaza & Open Plaza

These centers offer interactive games such as resistance challenges, hammer and piggy bank games, and chances to win gift cards and instant prizes with consumer purchases.

MegaPlaza

Saturday brings live acts from Kate Candela and Jhonny Banda Rock, plus a tribute to 2 Unlimited. Purchases of S/50 or more grant entry into raffles awarding S/500 gift cards every 30 minutes, with double chances for spenders at partner outlets like Tottus, Cinemark, Ripley, and Falabella.

La Rambla

A festive parade with stilt walkers and a family-friendly shopping party featuring María Pía Copello. Bingo with Nelly Rossinelli and other activities encourage participation, and a “suerte” booth offers instant prizes with purchases.

KM40, Boulevard Puntamar

KM40 runs children’s activities such as face painting and spring-themed workshops, while Boulevard Puntamar hosts an entrepreneur fair, a capoeira round, live music by Aldo Coz, and prize draws for attendees.

Nationwide presence and practical details

From Lima to Piura, Cajamarca, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Iquitos, Arequipa, Cusco and beyond, malls nationwide are inviting families to explore a blend of offers, entertainment, and gastronomic experiences. In addition to shopping, these centers are extending hours to 10:00 PM to accommodate the increased visitor flow.

ACCEP notes that the in-person event format is proving effective in drawing crowds and boosting local economies. The two-day celebration complements the ongoing retail calendar and provides shoppers with a curated set of experiences designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all ages.

Practical tips for enjoying Día del Shopping
