SHISHAMO Announces Two-DAY Final at Todoroki Stadium, June 2026

SHISHAMO’s Journey

For more than a decade, SHISHAMO has been a pillar of Japanese indie rock. Formed in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, by three musicians—Miyazaki Asako (guitar and vocals), Matsuoka Aya (bass), and Yoshikawa Misaki (drums)—the trio released their debut album SHISHAMO in 2013 and quickly built a dedicated following with their catchy hooks, relatable lyrics, and tight live performances. Their rise culminated in a first appearance on NHK紅白歌合戦 (Kohaku Uta Gassen) in 2017, marking their arrival on Japan’s national stage.

Over the years, SHISHAMO expanded beyond studio albums, headlining sold-out shows at iconic venues like Nippon Budokan in Tokyo (2023) and Osaka Castle Hall, as well as in Kanagawa’s Pia Arena MM. They also brought their music overseas to Taiwan and Korea, broadening their fanbase with a string of festival appearances and headline gigs. In 2025, the band faced a challenge: Yoshikawa’s health required a休養 (leave of absence) and a support drummer joined the lineup to keep the music flowing. Despite these obstacles, SHISHAMO continued to perform with the same distinctive sound that fans have come to love.

The Final Chapter at Todoroki Stadium

In a heartfelt announcement, SHISHAMO revealed that the band would wrap its 16-year history with a two-day farewell at a venue that has long been within reach of their dreams: Uvance Todoroki Stadium by Fujitsu (Todoroki Athletics Stadium) in Kanagawa. The final chapter will unfold on June 13–14, 2026, with each day offering a distinct vibe and setlist designed to give fans a memorable, cathartic closing chapter.

DAY 1: THANKS DAY

The first night will celebrate gratitude and the memories built with fans over the years. Doors open at 15:00 and the show starts at 17:00, with an anticipated closing around 20:00. The atmosphere is expected to be warm and communal, a fitting tribute to a band that has always connected intimately with its audience.

DAY 2: GOODBYE DAY

The second night shifts toward farewell and reflection, maintaining the same schedule of doors opening at 15:00 and a 17:00 start, with the goal of concluding the ritual with a shared sense of closure. The two-day event structure will allow SHISHAMO to explore the range of their music—hook-forward anthems, intimate ballads, and everything in between—one final time for devoted listeners.

Tickets are available through SHISHAMO’s official fan club “Shamo Sapo” and the official website, with a special two-day ticket that includes Memorial Goods. The tickets remain on sale through October 14, giving fans ample time to plan a trip to Kanagawa for this historic weekend.

What This Finale Means

SHISHAMO’s decision to end the band’s run is presented with gratitude, patience, and a clear sense of purpose. In the band’s own words, SHISHAMO has always been more than a project or a collection of songs; it is a living, evolving identity that the members wish to preserve until the very last note. The Todoroki Stadium finale embodies that ethos: a large, iconic stage that has tested their aspirations and, in turn, became a scene for their most cherished performances.

As the announcements unfold and fans prepare for June 2026, SHISHAMO’s legacy is secured not just in discography but in the communal love that music creates—an enduring connection that will outlast the band’s final bow. The final performances will be a celebration of a partnership between musicians and listeners who have traveled this road together, sharing in the laughter, tears, and unforgettable moments that only live music can provide.
